52 inch ORDINARY BICYCLE, circa 1880
This unrestored ordinary has a tapered backbone with footstep on the left. The 23-inch handlebars are of the straight type with drop handles to pear shaped turned wooden handles. The spoon brake is complete with lever. The tapered forks are flattened and the wheel has a crescent rim with rope inlay. The spokes are radially opposed and non-adjustable. The hub has adjustable cranks with black rubber pedals and the trailing wheel has a diameter of 17 inches.
