The Buyers’Guide of 1935 models  issued by  The Motor Cycle gives interesting facts about design trends in the motorcycle world.
It shows that side valves and V-twins were loosing ground halfway down the thirties: 21% of the 1935 models offered on the British market still had side valves, and 16% ( 1932: 21%)  consisted of twin cylinder  machines.
By 1939 these percentages were 15% and 7%…… You don’t come across nice big outfits so often, and this certainly is a handsome big machine with an elegant launch sidecar.
It was the biggest capacity machine in the 1935 AJS range, that consisted of  11 models ranging from a 246 OHV till the 990 cc SV.
The beast is an older restoration, has four speed Burman gearbox and interchangeable wheels.
Note the nice hood on the launch.
The machine is a good runner and should last for ages…
