Description
Benelli type 4 TN 500cc OHC ca. 1935 frame#8850 engine# 4TN 10-8850
The Benelli factory was founded in the Italian village of Pesaro by no less than six brothers Benelli in 1914.
The company started with simple two strokes but from 1924 racing machines were built.
Tonini, one of the six brothers , won the Italian championship five years in a row from 1927 with a gear driven OHC engined machine.
In the thirties the most successful racing machines were 250 cc OHC models.
Road going versions of the ohc machines were soon developed, and this type 4 TN is an excellent example of such a sporty roadbike.
Foot change, coil ignition and two port exhaust are some features of this excellently restored machine.
