Its name is an elision of “Triumph” and “BSA”.
The purpose is to combine the best elements of each marque to give a superior bike to either.
A Tribsa involved a pré-unit Triumph parallel twin engine installed in BSA motorcycle motorcycle frame.
Although both the BSA A65 and the Triumph 650 cc twins engines are overhead valves (OHV) units, only the Triumph has twin camshafts, which facilitated tuning for greater power output.
The BSA frame is a duplex-cradle design which is considered stiffer and stronger than the Triumph’s single downtube item.
This Tribsa was recently overhauled and received new pistons, valves, valve guids, 750cc conversion, unleaded fuel conversion, aluminum heads and 12 volts conversion.
The engine is held by Converta mounting brackets. The fuel tank is a Lita tank.
The sparks come from a rewound Lucas competition magneto.
The AMAL carburetors are both refurbished.
The Ceriani front forks holds the two-leading shoes brakes. Hagon shocks are used for the rear suspension and the headlamp is held by a pair of John Tickle brackets.
All together this is a fast and reliable road legal motorcycle and in contemporary vintage events, Tribsas compete and often win in motocross, enduro, and trials.
