Expert Columbia 1884 56-inch Ordinary Bicycle frame# 3947
This Expert Columbia was made by the Pope Manufacturing Company, as mentioned on the dust shield on the back side of the head, together with several patent dates. Such a big-size machine is not very common. Most Ordinaries that are for sale nowadays are restored or have been overpainted at some time in the past, but this specimen still proudly shows a lot of its original nickel and enamel, complete with intricate gold lining. The machine has a good saddle top with interesting tool pouch attached to it. The spokes are in good condition, but solid rubber tyres should be fitted.
