Midland Machinists Company ca. 1883 52” Ordinary “The Flying Eagle”
This is a good original machine with a 52-inch driving wheel and an 18-inch (new) trailing wheel.
Both wheels have 1-inch crescent rims.
The handlebars are hooped 26-inch with turned wooden grips.
The circular section backbone supports a single leaf saddle spring and an intaglio style brass
maker’s name badge.
The original pedals are fitted to slotted 6-inch cranks.
Other features are hollow blade forks, leather-covered pan saddle and Bown-style bearings.
The steel surface of this “Flying Eagle” has a mellow colour and promotes this bicycle’s originality.
