Ducati 1977 900 GTS

The Ducati 900 GTS is one of those motorcycles that sits very close to the top of most motorcycle obsessed gentleman’s wish lists.
The Ducati 900 GTS was produced only in 1977 and ‘78 and used Ducati’s 864cc bevel drive V-twin.
It revived Ducati’s fortunes with a winning combination of speed, handling and classic design with its chunky tank, ducktail seat and the controversial angular design of the cosmetic elements from the hand of car stylist Giorgio Giugiaro.
Giugiaro dispensed with both the sinuous tank shape and engine covers, and added large steel side covers to create an overall integrated effect.
By 1977 further cosmetic and electrical enhancements were introduced in the renamed 900 GTS.
This 1977 model has an electric start alongside its kickstart lever.
Subject of a recent total restoration, it’s an exhilarating sport-tourer, responsive and good fun to ride.
