Description

J. Suchet 1900ca Ladies’ Cycle frame #603
The brass head badge of this well-preserved bicycle reads “Cycles Automobiles J. Suchet, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte d’Or”. Nuits-Saint-Georges is a small village in the arrondissement of Beaune of the Côte d’Or department in in Eastern France. We were unable to find information on this make, so we would be glad to learn more. The bike is well-finished and hasn’t been overpainted, much of the original enamel and lining is still visible. The “Le Tourbillon” (whirlwind) cycle bell works on the side of the front tyre and is actuated by a cable from the handlebar. Rim rear brake is “Le Touriste” and also operated by a handlebar lever. The crank set is a B.S.A. product, the tyre pump a “Britton” and the saddle, which is in excellent original condition, is from “Columbus”.
