Moto Guzzi 1934 498 cc IOE single type “S Rigida” frame#26812 engine#S.35145
The model “ S” was designed as a practical machine for those ride-to-work customers who were concerned with fuel economy and robust construction.
It could be had with a rigid or sprung frame and the four speed gearbox could be ordered manual or pedal operated.
This machine, as its type name says, has the rigid frame and pedal gearbox operation
The S was produced from 1934 till 1940. The model was a good seller and many were used by the Italian traffic police.
Fuel economy is very good at about 3.5 litres per 100 km. Compression ratio 4.6:1, max power 13.2 HP @4000 rpm., weight 147 kilos, top speed about 105 km/h.
4004 rigid machines were sold of the “S “ and 2652 sprung ones.
This machine is not restored, it still has its original paintwork.
