Description

Vélocipède circa 1870

This well-preserved specimen has an iron frame of square section, a 7-inch steering head and ellipse section front forks.
The 37” front wheel has 16 spokes, the 32” rear has 14 spokes.
Both wheels have been painted yellow with black accent lines, but they are a little loose.
The saddle spring appears original and has a leather-covered saddle fitted.
The cranks come without pedals. Braking is effected with a spoon on the rear wheel, operated by the twisting 24” handlebar.
The hock rests are to standard pattern.
